Mist in Grizzly Valley

The evening before capturing this amazing sunrise scene, Mark came face to face with a 7-800 lbs grizzly bear just a short distance up the trail from this location in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. Mark spent several hours in the middle of the night photographing a lake and some peaks located around 100m south of where this image was shot and he felt pretty nervous the entire time, knowing that a large bear was in the vicinity in the pitch darkness. 

The morning was mostly socked in and Mark had focused his attention on the lake and peaks to the south, but when he turned around he saw this view to the north. The valley was filled with fog but beginning to clear slightly, allowing for this serene composition. 

Available on archival canvas, which has been Giclée printed by the artist using archival Canon pigment inks. The print is guaranteed to hold its vivid colors for over 100 years (note that displaying the print in direct sunlight may shorten print life).

Each print is personally signed by the artist and includes a certificate of authenticity.
