This photograph was taken in the Canadian Rockies on an early October morning at freeze-up. Moraine Lake is located in the incredible Valley of the Ten Peaks in Banff National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and was featured for many years on the back of the Canadian $20 bill.

Mark arrived at the location several hours before dawn to photograph the mountains under the stars and to catch the alpenglow of the coming day. Overnight, the skies had cleared after a heavy snowfall and temperatures had dropped to minus 14C, causing a film of new ice to form on the lake. The ice acted as an imperfect mirror, diffusely reflecting the scene as the rising sun touched the peaks.

Available on archival canvas, which has been Giclée printed by the artist using archival Canon pigment inks. The print is guaranteed to hold its vivid colors for over 100 years (note that displaying the print in direct sunlight may shorten print life).

Each print is personally signed by the artist and includes a certificate of authenticity.

Canvas prints include mirrored printed edges and are sealed with archival varnish. Canvas prints include an internal acid-free kiln-dried stretcher frame and wire hanger, so they are ready for hanging on your wall, right out of the box.  

NOTE: Prints in inventory will normally be shipped within 2 business days of order. Otherwise, print may require 5-10 days for printing and assembly. Once the order is placed, we will send an email with the expected shipping date.

 

Materials

Printed on archival canvas with archival pigment inks and sealed with archival varnish. Inner stretcher frame is 1.5 inch thick kiln-dried basswood with a rounded profile for taut canvas stretch.

Prints above 30" on the long edge include one more more braces to stabilize the frame.

Includes mirror-edge effect, where 1.5" of the image is printed on the wrapped edge of the framed print.

Includes D-rings screwed into the frame and hanging wire to hang the print right out of the box.

$20 flat shipping fee for orders within 30 kms of Kelowna, BC. For shipping elsewhere in Canada and continental USA, a flat rate, shown at checkout, will be added to each order.

To return your product for a full refund, contact us within 14 days of product delivery via the Contact Page and request a Return Authorization number. We will then provide you with the information needed to ship the product back to us.

All prints are stretched on 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) thick stretcher bars.

Care Instructions

These high quality canvas prints are sealed with water resistant varnish. Remove dust with a light duster and remove splashes or stains gently with a clean, damp cloth. It is best to not display print in direct sunlight to prevent fading.
